flojet question

Recently I have been blogging about plumbing in my Nuova Simonelli Musica (http://www.roaste.com/CoffeeBlogs/sontondaman/Plumbing-Nuova-Simonelli-Musica-well-sort ) But eventually I decided that using a Flojet setup is the best. I was able to buy a flojet unit for a very reasonable price. Plumbing it in was easy as cake as the Flojet has John Guest fitting. Now it is up and running, it is great. However, I'm noticing one thing that the flojet would get quite hot if I leave it switch on after I turn off the espresso machine. In the instruction manual, I do not see anywhere that they would recommend turning of the flojet pump when not in use.

The thing about the Flojet is that it automatically turn on and off when the line pressure drop. But once the machine is off, it seem that I do not ever hear the flojet turning on but for instance when I wake up this morning, the pump unit was really hot to the touch. I'm wondering if anything is wrong with the flojet or I'm using it all wrong and I must switch it off after an espresso session. I'm afraid that his heating issue will shorten the pump's life so in the mean while, I will turn the pump off after use. One thing about this approach is I might forget to turn the pump on when I go to turn on the espresso machine and could result in the espresso machine autofil pump fail as there are no water being delivered to it.

If anyone have experience with flojet before, please let me know!
