Making A Great Cup of Coffee (in 100 words or less)

A cup of coffee --Photo courtesy of rick on FlickrBuy micro-lot coffees.  These premium coffees can be traced to a specific crop and season.  They taste better. Or buy a single origin coffee for a unique taste.

Store in an airtight container in your panty, not in the refrigerator or freezer. (Cold temperature draws moisture to the surface, causing a rancid flavor)

Grind in a burr grinder for the most even grind.

Use filtered tap water (coffee is 98 percent water). This helps remove the taste of chlorine and other impurities.

Heat water to 195 degrees (taken off the boil for about 30 seconds).

Pour water and grinds in a french press. Let steep about 3 minutes for maximum flavor

Empty the french press to avoid longer contact with the grinds.

(That was 117 words on a cup of coffee but who's counting)
