Let me introduce to you my new aquisition:

Yes that is right, a state of the art coffee machine that can grind, and then brew a perfect cup of coffee, all done automatically!

Let have a look inside the box shall we:

I'm sorry to disappoint many of you but actually it is not that perfect coffee brewing device. It is actually another lever machine that I have adopt.

the machine is from an obscure italian manufacturer: La Riviera. Interestingly, the group head, is identical to that of the Ponte Vecchio Lusso that I have . Also, I can confirm that the portafilter are interchangable between the two. This La Viera Eagle is a spring driven espresso machine similar to the Ponte Vecchio Lusso that I currently have in my possesion.

Here is a peek under the group head at the dispersion screen. Surprisingly clean as there are very little coffee residue down here. Also, the gasket for this machine is a bit strange as it is a silicone like material and very thin. I'm thinking perhaps  I can use the Ponte Vecchio gasket as well?

Here is a look at the strange angle of the steam wand. We will see if the angle of this affect steaming ability of this machine.

Here is another view of the machine. Interestingly, the black button at the base of the boiler is for filling of the boiler! This machine is the only home lever espresso machine that could suppositely be able to hooked up to a water line! I will have to do more research about this functionality of the machine. It woud for sure be a good thing for me!

And here is the top view of the machine. We can see the steaming knob perhaps placed a bit awarkly! The boiler fill knob which seem to be identical to that of the Ponte Vecchio Lusso also a overpressure valve . This machine do not have anti-vacumn valve to release false pressure so similar to the La pavoni, you must manually release the false pressure via the steam wand.

Overall, this machine seem like it is in very good condition. It seem like it did not receive very much use. However due to the age of the machine, I'm thinking the spring is a bit weak compare to that of the Ponte Vecchio. It will also need a good polishing esprecially the brass! I will be contacting Orphan Espresso soon to ask them about the seals! Wish me luck!
